Australian Delegation Visiting to Explore Creating World Class Higher Ed System

On the back of the Indian Govt. Union Budget clearly laying out the opening of FDI and strong foreign university engagement in Indian education sector especially with Higher Education, the Australian Delegation’s visit instills a lot of confidence. This delegation of senior industry leaders, educationists, policy and trade leaders arrived into New Delhi on Feb 24 to meet with Indian counterparts to discuss a broad range of topics toward this objective. They will discuss how to create,  explore possible strategic engagements to create what could become a globally mobile, world-class University and higher education system for India.

A similar delegation from Australia had visited India in Nov 2019 for initial discussions on the same topic. Buoyed with the resurgent Govt of India Budget 2020 announcements in early Feb 2020, the Austrailian mission is seriously exploring how to add momentum to this initiative and take it off the ground. It is already common knowledge that a large number of Indian students travel to Australia every year to pursue higher education.
