The Times Higher Education World Emerging Economies’ University Rankings 2020 have had China, India and Brazil with most number of representations. China with 81, India with 56 and Brazil with 46 Universities listed in the top rankings. However Russia, Taiwan and South Africa also made the list of Top countries to be ranked. But the higher honour went to PRC with mainland China claiming 14 of the Top 30 Universities in the ranking. (Up from 12 last year) while Brazil went down a notch (compared to previous year). The Top #1 University rank slot was retained by Tsinghua University, 2nd position going to Peking University who retained their positions. 533 Universities from 47 countries participated in this year’s ranking excercise. Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore was ranked highest Indian University at #16.
