FDI in Higher Education Could Stop brain drain from India
As FDI opportunities are opening up in India, further to the Government opening up the channel, hopes are rising about the obvious benefits. As global educational institutes of repute start engaging with Indian universities and automomous colleges for more strategic alliances, India stands to gain in the long run. Not the least of which will be a clear benefit in the medium term, that there could be ar reversal of the traditional brain-drain which developing economies always see.
Needless to say, the government has to put in place approrpriate rules and mechanisms that are clear, transparent and friendly to foreign investors.
